Punjab Asks Army & Rangers for Muharram Security in 39 Districts

Punjab authorities have formally requested deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel for comprehensive security arrangements during Muharramul Haram. The request has been made to the Ministry of Interior by Punjab Home Department.

Officials stated that 137 companies are being requested, comprising 61 from the Pakistan Army and 76 from the Rangers. These forces will be deployed across 39 districts of the province from the first to the eleventh day of Muharram, with assignments tailored to meet specific district requirements for maintaining peace during religious gatherings and processions.
