Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of responsibility for twin blasts reported in Punjab within 24 hours, suggesting these incidents are part of a pattern to create unrest ahead of state Assembly elections next year.

Speaking to media after paying respects at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mann claimed the BJP often resorts to “riots, blasts, or communal tension” in states where it seeks electoral gains. He stated that these explosions indicate the party’s preparations for Punjab.

The first blast occurred near the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jalandhar, causing panic after a scooter caught fire. Hours later, another explosion was reported near Khasa cantonment area in Amritsar, close to Army and BSF installations.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav inspected the site of the first blast where a two-wheeler exploded after catching fire near BSF Headquarters. Mann described Punjab as a peace-loving state but acknowledged past periods of violence. He assured that those responsible would be punished and accused the BJP of using communal polarization as an electoral strategy in different states, with Punjab being their next target.
