Punjab CM Forms Committee to Investigate College Rape Case

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has established a seven-member committee to investigate an alleged rape case at a private college. The committee has been tasked with submitting a comprehensive report within 48 hours.

The Chief Minister directed the investigation team to gather all relevant evidence, including statements from involved parties, while also reviewing police actions and the college administration’s response.

The investigation will be led by the Chief Secretary, with the Secretaries of Home, Higher Education, Health, Special Education, and other relevant officials serving as members.

On another note, CM Maryam Nawaz hailed Pakistan’s hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit as a monumental step for the country. She noted that the summit would play a critical role in advancing regional development and prosperity. Reflecting on Pakistan’s strengthened diplomatic position, the Chief Minister credited Nawaz Sharif’s vision for breaking the country’s global isolation, enhancing its stature on the international stage.
