Punjab Cuts Traffic Fines for Vehicles, New Plan Approved

Punjab Announces Reduction in Traffic Fines

Chief Minister Punjab has approved a plan to reduce traffic fines across the province. The proposal will be sent to the assembly for final approval.

Motorcycle fines are being cut from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000. Rickshaw penalties have been reduced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1,000, with serious violations now carrying a Rs 2,000 penalty.

Car and jeep fines will drop from Rs 5,000 to Rs 3,000, while overspeeding penalties for motorcycles, rickshaws, and cars remain unchanged. Luxury vehicle fines have been reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000.

Fines for Mazda, coaster, and small passenger vans are being cut from Rs 20,000 to Rs 7,000. Trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles will see their penalties reduced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000.
