Punjab Governor Condemns Tragic Attack, Urges National Unity Against Terrorism
In a statement following the recent tragic suicide attack in Islamabad’s Tarlai suburb, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the families of those affected. His visit to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Polyclinic Hospital was not only an opportunity to learn about the health conditions of the injured but also a moment for emotional support.
During his visit, the governor prayed fervently for their swift recovery. “We stand together in grief,” he said. “The nation mourns alongside the families of the martyrs.” He emphasized that terrorism has no religion and targeting innocent worshippers is an attack against humanity itself, highlighting the brutality and depravity of such acts.
Sardar Saleem Haider Khan’s condemnation was unequivocal, asserting Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating this menace. “As a nation, we continue to battle terrorism with the relentless efforts of our brave armed forces and security agencies,” he declared. Among them, General Syed Asim Munir, as Chief Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism Affairs under Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s leadership, has been leading the charge against extremist groups.
The governor also paid tribute to Pakistan Army personnel who have been actively engaged in this war against terrorism. “Anyone threatening innocent citizens will face no mercy,” he reiterated. His message was clear: The struggle to eliminate terrorism from the country would continue unabated.
In a recent development, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir highlighted efforts toward eradicating extremist groups and thwarting Indian-sponsored conspiracy plots within Pakistan’s borders. “Together we stand against terror,” said the governor, reinforcing this sentiment with his unwavering commitment to national unity in the face of adversity.
