Punjab government launches eight-week summer learning camps
The Punjab government has launched eight-week summer learning camps under the Taleem Programme in 12 districts. The initiative aims to provide continued academic support to students during summer vacations.
A notification issued by the School Education Department states that around 6,060 learning camps will be set up in 3,030 selected schools across Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, DG Khan, Layyah, Lodhran, Mianwali, Muzaffargarh, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur. The camps will begin on June 2 and continue until August 7, 2026.
Classes at the camps will be held five days a week from 7am to 9:30am. District education authorities have been directed to ensure effective implementation of the programme, while community mobilisation has also been emphasised to maximise participation and outreach.
Teachers participating in the summer camps will receive an additional Rs40,000 per month besides their regular salaries. Officials have been instructed to complete all necessary arrangements to ensure the camps become fully operational on schedule.
