Punjab to Launch E-Taxi Service Inspired by China

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan to introduce an e-taxi service across the province, inspired by China’s advanced taxi system.

The Punjab Transport Department is moving swiftly to bring the initiative to life, holding consultations with several electric vehicle manufacturers.

Leading companies, including Deewan Group and the National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), have shown interest in collaborating on the project.

The e-taxi service, designed to operate round-the-clock, will first be launched in Lahore and divisional headquarters before expanding to other major cities in Punjab.
