Ramadan 2026: Moon Sighted in Pakistan, Fasting Begins on February 19

The crescent moon for Ramadan 1447 AH has been sighted in Pakistan, with the first day of fasting scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The announcement was made following a meeting chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, where members from both the central and zonal committees participated. The zonal committee meetings were held in provincial capitals across the country.

The first reports of the moon sighting came from Dera Ismail Khan and Swabi, followed by six testimonies from the Mahamand district. Zonal committee members also confirmed sightings from Karachi.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad officially announced that the crescent moon for Ramadan 1447 AH has been sighted, and therefore, the first day of Ramadan will be observed tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, 2026.
