Ramazan package funds start being distributed in Peshawar today

The distribution of financial assistance under the Ramazan relief package commenced today in Peshawar. This initiative aims to alleviate hardships among vulnerable families during Ramadan. A staggering 1,016,394 individuals will be recipients of this support, with each household receiving Rs12,500.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government allocated a total of Rs13 billion for the Ramazan package. This amount has been released to the Social Welfare Department by the Finance Department. The initiative is overseen at the district level by Deputy Commissioners, District Social Welfare Officers, and Additional Deputy Commissioners.

Eligible beneficiaries include orphans, widows, and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, those who are currently homeless will also be included in the program. Government figures highlight that Peshawar will receive the highest number of recipients, with 108,500 families benefiting from this package. Swat follows closely behind with an estimated 67,500 beneficiaries. Mardan and Charsadda have even larger shares: 60,486 in Mardan and more than 40,000 in Charsadda.

Notably, the Ramazan package will be distributed across all 35 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Eligible individuals will receive a notification via mobile message, allowing them to collect their assistance at any designated shop.
