Second Russia-Pak Education Conference Set for Kazan
The second Russia-Pakistan International Conference aimed at enhancing educational ties between the two nations is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 17, 2026. Organized as part of the globally recognized Russia-Islamic World Kazan Forum 2026, experts, academics, and policymakers will gather in Kazan.
Jointly organized by Kazan Federal University and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, with support from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and Consortium for Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies (CAPES), the conference is being held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Zabita Khan Shinwari and Prof. Dr. Lenar Rinatovich Safin.
Ambassadors from both countries, including Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and Russia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev, are also associated with the event. The conference follows the successful first Pakistan-Russia conference held in Karachi in February 2025, which was considered a significant milestone in academic cooperation between the two nations.
A high-level Pakistani academic delegation is expected to participate, including senior vice chancellors and scholars from various universities such as Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, and Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shehzad. During the conference, key topics like geopolitics, regional connectivity, economic cooperation, security, and cultural relations will be discussed. Experts believe the event will play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan-Russia educational diplomacy and promoting research collaboration and people-to-people contacts.
