SAARC CCI President Visits FPCCI Secretariat for Meeting

Chandi Raj Dhakal visited the President Secretariat in Islamabad to meet Atif Ikram Sheikh. Dhakal congratulated Sheikh on being elected Vice President of SAARC Chamber and expressed best wishes for him.

The leaders discussed organizational matters, promoting regional trade, and enhancing business activities effectiveness within the SAARC region. They agreed to make the SAARC business organization more active to promote economic cooperation among member states.

Various proposals regarding improving air and land connectivity were considered during the meeting to facilitate trade and transportation in the region. Former Federation President Zubair Ahmed Malik, Vice President Tariq Jadoon, newly elected members of SAARC-CCI general assembly, Chairman Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik, and Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail were also present.

Atif Ikram Sheikh emphasized that member countries must set aside differences and focus on mutual cooperation for the development of the region. He highlighted countless opportunities for joint development and progress in the SAARC region which must be availed.

Dhakal stressed Pakistan’s significant role in establishing and stabilizing the SAARC organization. He also emphasized practical steps needed by the business community with governments to strengthen organizational links and confidence-building measures among member states, including the establishment of SAARC House in Pakistan.
