Savannah Guthrie is set to return to the Today show on April 6. The announcement was made by co-host Hoda Kotb during airtime.

Guthrie expressed her emotional struggle with returning in a recent interview, stating it’s hard for her to imagine being something she’s not at a place meant for joy and lightness. However, she feels compelled to return due to familial ties.

The journalist also addressed speculation about the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who went missing from their Arizona home on January 31. Surveillance footage has shown a masked intruder outside the property that night.

Guthrie’s absence has been filled by co-host Craig Melvin and Kotb. The family has offered a reward for information and donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in hopes of finding her mother.
