
The State Bank of Pakistan, along with all banking and financial institutions including The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX), will remain closed on December 25, 2024, in observance of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on December 25, 2024 [Wednesday], being a public holiday on the occasions of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the central bank announced in a statement on Monday.
“All TRE Certificate Holders, Staff, and concerned are hereby informed that Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, being Public Holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day /Christmas,” according to the notice issued by PSX.
The closure extends to all banks, microfinance institutions, and development finance institutions across the country as part of the public holiday.
Earlier in the day, the Cabinet Division issued the public and optional holiday schedule for 2025, with February 5 marked as the first holiday for Kashmir Solidarity Day, followed by Pakistan Day on March 23.
