
Chief Justice underscores importance of financial governance, procurement systems
The Chief Justice of Pakistan has emphasized the need for effective financial governance and rule-based procurement systems in building a credible and citizen-centric justice sector. The Supreme Court reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in public expenditure, integrity in procurement practices, and institutional quality management through specialized training programmes on Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules and Standardization and Quality Management Systems (S&QMS).
Training sessions held at the Supreme Court
A ceremony marking the conclusion of these training sessions was held at the Supreme Court. The Chief Justice, Registrar Supreme Court, Managing Director of the PPRA, Director General (Reforms) Supreme Court, Secretary of the S&QMS, and officers and officials of the court attended the event.
Chief Justice emphasizes transparency in procurement practices
Addressing the participants, the Chief Justice observed that transparent procurement practices, standardized administrative systems, and strong quality management mechanisms are essential for ensuring institutional integrity, accountability, and efficient utilization of public resources. He emphasized that modern judicial institutions must adopt internationally recognized governance and management standards to strengthen public confidence and improve service delivery.

The ceremony highlighted the Supreme Court’s ongoing reform agenda aimed at strengthening institutional systems through transparency, digitization, process standardization, performance optimization, and professionalization of both administrative and judicial functions. The Chief Justice remarked that effective financial governance and rule-based procurement systems are indispensable for building a credible and citizen-centric justice sector.
Chief Justice appreciates support from PPRA and S&QMS consultants
The Chief Justice appreciated the support extended by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority and S&QMS consultants during these training sessions. He stressed the need to replicate similar capacity-building initiatives across the high courts and district judiciary to promote uniform governance standards, transparency in administrative practices, and improved institutional performance throughout the justice sector. Certificates were distributed among officers and officials who successfully completed the specialized training programmes.
