SUPARCO Marks World Space Week with Public Engagement

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission celebrated World Space Week 2026 with a series of educational and public engagement activities across the country.

This year’s global theme was Rocket Revolution, and SUPARCO used the occasion to highlight the role of space science in national development.

The events included talks, exhibitions and sessions for students, aimed at building interest in science and technology among young people.

SUPARCO has been expanding its satellite programme, with recent launches strengthening Pakistan’s earth observation capabilities. The agency has emphasised that space based services support agriculture, telecommunications, disaster response and climate monitoring.

The week long observance is part of a broader effort to raise awareness about the practical value of space research beyond its prestige.
