Seven people were killed when a tourist vehicle heading for Fairy Meadows crashed into a deep ravine near Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Police stated that the accident occurred in Chilas area as the tourist vehicle plunged into a steep ravine. Emergency services and local residents rushed to the scene, with seven fatalities confirmed on-site. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Among those killed was the driver, identified as Ziaullah from Darel, Diamer district. Two tourists were named Ali and Sajjad; identification of the remaining victims is ongoing.
Rescue sources suggested that rough mountain terrain and the vehicle possibly veering off course may have contributed to the accident. A formal investigation into the crash’s circumstances is underway.
