SHC Summons Sindh Officials Over MDCAT 2024 Results, Raises Concerns About Testing Process

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned top provincial officials, including the chief secretary, health secretary, and Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) President Dr. Rizwan Taj, to address concerns over the 2024 MDCAT results. The court also summoned vice chancellors of medical universities across the province.

In its written order, the SHC voiced concerns that the current entry test system places excessive pressure on students and families, potentially creating opportunities for corruption. The court called for suggestions from relevant authorities to ensure transparency in future exams.

Additionally, the court directed consultations with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) to explore whether they could conduct future MDCAT exams. It also requested records of students who scored 190 marks in the test. The next hearing is set for October 9.

The case comes after Dow University released the results of the MDCAT on September 30, showing a pass rate of 58.79% among the 38,041 candidates who appeared across Sindh.
