Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued an order prohibiting any increase in school van fares across the province, directing schools to maintain existing charges and prevent additional financial burden on parents.
The School Education Department’s official notification instructs all public and private schools to strictly adhere to current transport charges. This move aims to protect parents from increased costs amid rising fuel prices.
Private schools and parent-operated transport services are also barred from increasing pick-and-drop fees, emphasizing the need for unchanged charges despite fuel price hikes. The government is facilitating transport operators to balance operational challenges while preventing fare increases.
Educational institutions have been instructed to ensure full compliance with these directives. Failure to comply may result in strict action against the institutions.
