The Sindh government has officially mandated biometric verification for vehicle registration and transfers, aiming to enhance transparency and prevent fraud. The decision, announced by Sindh Excise Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, will be implemented in three phases.

Starting July 1, biometric verification will be required for new vehicle registrations. By November 1, the process will extend to vehicle purchases, eventually covering both buyers and sellers.

Citizens can complete the biometric process at NADRA e-facilitation centers or district excise offices. Memon emphasized that this reform is part of broader efforts to modernize Sindh’s excise and taxation system, which also includes vehicle registration at showrooms.
