Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has called for the resignation of Governor Kamran Tessori following anti-Zulfikar Ali Bhutto comments made by Tessori’s party, MQM-P.
“Everyone knows Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a national hero,” Memon stated at a press conference in Karachi on Monday, accompanied by Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
Earlier, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui asserted that all ethnic groups in Pakistan should be granted equal rights. He claimed that events over the past 50 years, including the Fall of Dhaka in 1971 and Bhutto’s takeover on December 23, were part of a conspiracy against Pakistan.
Memon responded, “The MQM-P’s politics is different and we have no objection to that. But if they put baseless allegations against PPP’s martyred leadership, then we know how to respond.” He insisted that PPP is not afraid of MQM-P.
He demanded an apology from the MQM-P leadership for their comments against Bhutto and accused them of promoting hatred in the province. Additionally, Memon challenged MQM-P to contest elections to gauge their popularity among the masses.
