Sindh’s Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has announced a sweeping digital overhaul of the province’s education infrastructure, including the launch of a mobile application aimed at improving accountability in schools.

The new digital system will enable teachers to mark their attendance via mobile phones, with app functionality limited strictly to school premises to ensure location-based verification.

As part of the initiative, teachers will also be required to upload photographs of their classroom during school hours. These images will be processed using facial recognition software, allowing the app to automatically count and report the number of students present.

The minister said the system is designed to improve transparency, ensure regularity among faculty, and bring greater oversight to public sector education across Sindh.
