South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has chosen Han Seongsook as the country’s new Prime Minister. If parliament approves, Han would become South Korea’s first female prime minister in 20 years.

Han, who previously served as chief executive of Naver, a major internet company, is expected to lead the nation’s AI transformation. Her role will be largely ceremonial and administrative under South Korea’s presidential system.

The potential appointment could significantly boost women’s representation in government and inspire future generations.
