State Bank of Pakistan to Introduce New Currency Notes with Advanced Security Features

Governor Jameel Ahmed of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) unveiled a significant decision on Monday, declaring the introduction of new currency notes across all denominations. This move aims to bolster security features and curb the circulation of counterfeit currency within the country.

During an informal exchange with journalists, Governor Jameel Ahmed unexpectedly disclosed plans to roll out fresh currency notes across Pakistan. This initiative, targeted at addressing the issue of black money, underscores the SBP’s commitment to revamping the existing currency system.

Governor Jameel Ahmed stressed that the upcoming currency notes would integrate advanced international security measures to thwart counterfeiting attempts. Furthermore, a design competition scheduled for February will determine the visual aesthetics of the forthcoming currency.

Anticipated to feature vibrant hues, unique serial numbers, intricate patterns, and enhanced security features, these new notes aim to ensure the authenticity of Pakistan’s currency.

Governor Jameel Ahmed reassured the public against any abrupt disruptions, clarifying that the transition process would not replicate sudden currency change.
