Pakistan’s Supreme Court Announces 2026 Summer Vacation Schedule
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced its summer vacation schedule for 2026, aiming to improve judicial efficiency and reduce the backlog of pending cases. The decision was made after consultations among judges and at the request of the Chief Justice.
The court stated that the new schedule is designed to ensure greater case disposal during the holiday period while maintaining judicial availability. Judges will increase their working hours at the principal seat in Islamabad during the summer vacation, but attendance at branch registries will be reduced.
The duration of the summer vacation itself remains unchanged at four weeks, as in previous years. The key difference lies in the modified working pattern intended to keep hearings running more continuously.
Officials emphasized that the updated schedule is aimed at improving access to justice and ensuring important cases are not delayed due to seasonal court closures.
