Tencent has launched ClawBot, a tool that links OpenClaw AI agent directly with WeChat.

OpenClaw, an open-source agent, can automate tasks like sending emails and transferring files. This follows Tencent’s recent launch of its own AI agent suite including QClaw, Lighthouse for developers, and WorkBuddy for enterprise users.

Alibaba launched Wukong, an enterprise platform coordinating multiple AI agents for complex tasks such as meeting transcription and document editing. Baidu has integrated OpenClaw-based agents across various hardware and software from smart-home devices to cloud services.

Despite surging user interest and experimentation, Chinese authorities have warned of potential security risks associated with these autonomous agents.

Tencent’s recent move is a direct response to aggressive launches by its primary rivals as the company seeks to carve out a specific niche in the agent ecosystem.
