Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi stated his team are not finished despite a 2-2 draw against Brighton, leaving them stuck in the Premier League relegation zone.
Spurs took two leads but Georginio Rutter’s goal ensured the spoils were shared. The result left Spurs 18th, one point behind West Ham and two behind Nottingham Forest with five games remaining.
De Zerbi, managing his first home game, admitted the draw felt like a defeat but said his team has the quality to win all five remaining games.
The Italian urged players to follow him, be stronger, focused on Wolverhampton game, and not return home sad. Spurs face Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea, and Everton in their final matches. Despite De Zerbi’s positive words, Spurs’ chances of survival look bleak.
Winless Tottenham have failed to pick up a league victory since December. Forest and West Ham are picking up vital points regularly. Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler believes his team has the quality to survive despite De Zerbi’s challenging task.
