US President Donald Trump issued a strong warning of seeking harsh justice, including the death penalty, for the kidnappers of Nancy Guthrie if her safety remains at risk. In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Trump declared, “If any harm comes to her mother, I will ask the Justice Department to seek severe federal consequences.” The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, a mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, has been ongoing for several weeks.
In this latest development, investigators have found traces of unknown DNA along with gloves at their property, approximately ten miles from her home. Authorities ruled out the possibility that these remains belonged to family members or associates close to Nancy. The FBI released images of a masked individual carrying a black backpack, describing the suspect as male and around 5’9″ to 5’10” in height with an average build.
To expedite the search process, the FBI has increased the reward for information leading to Nancy’s whereabouts to $100,000. Savannah Guthrie took to Instagram to appeal to her mother’s captors: “It’s never too late. Whoever has you or knows where you are, it is not too late to do what is right.”
