In his latest video released on Sunday night, President Donald Trump underscored the ongoing nature of combat operations in Iran. “Operations continue at full force and will persist until all objectives are met,” he declared. His message was clear: “More American lives may be lost, as they must face inevitable casualties.”
Trump went further, asserting that Revolutionary Guards and Iranian military personnel would either lay down their weapons or meet certain death. He stated, “I urge the Revolutionary Guards to put away your arms or you will die. Death is guaranteed, it won’t be a pretty sight.” The President then appealed to the people of Iran, urging them to reclaim their country from enemies who wielded nuclear capabilities.
In his interview with The Atlantic, Trump elaborated, “They want to talk, and I have agreed to engage in dialogue,” adding that he would not initiate such discussions unless they occurred promptly. He claimed American-Israeli strikes had destroyed nine Iranian naval vessels, describing them as significant targets.
Trump’s announcement followed a series of US military actions against Iranian assets, including naval forces. In a social media post earlier, Trump boasted about the destruction of nine Iranian ships and stated that “major Iranian naval ships have been targeted, with Iran’s naval headquarters largely obliterated.” He also mentioned killing several officials previously involved in negotiations.
In response to these events, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed that a temporary leadership council had taken over from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This development suggests a potential diplomatic opening despite ongoing military tensions between the US and Iran.
