In a startling revelation, Donald Trump made direct contact with then-police chief Michael Reiter in 2006 regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged abuse of teenage girls. According to an FBI summary from a 2019 interview first published by the Miami Herald, Trump praised Reiter for his efforts, saying, “Thank goodness you’re stopping him” and adding that “everyone has known he’s been doing this.” The document details Trump’s ominous warnings, asserting Epstein was “disgusting,” and urging investigators to focus on Ghislaine Maxwell as his “operative” and “evil.”

The record also states Trump claimed during the call: “I once found myself in a situation with Epstein where teenagers were present. I got the hell out of there.” The FBI summary indicated this conversation took place just as the investigation’s details began to emerge into public domain.

Trump has consistently denied knowing about Epstein’s criminal activities, stating he severed ties more than two decades ago. While Reiter’s name was redacted in the Justice Department file, the timeline and specifics align with his well-documented role leading Florida’s first investigation into Epstein.

This account of Trump’s outreach to a police chief had not been previously reported.
