Turkish Foreign Ministry Reacts to Israeli PM’s Post

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to a post made by the Israeli Prime Minister on X. The Turkish side called Netanyahu the “Hitler of our times”.

This reaction followed the issuance of an arrest warrant for Netanyahu by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in November 2024, accusing him of ‘war crimes and crimes against humanity’.

The Foreign Ministry stated that Netanyahu’s goal is to undermine peace negotiations and continue expansionist policies. If he fails to do so, he risks being tried in his own country and facing imprisonment.

Turkey’s indictment was prepared by Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office after the arrest of 35 suspects, including Netanyahu, for an armed intervention against the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza last year.

Netanyahu responded by stating that Israel would continue fighting against Iran’s terrorist regime. The Israeli Defence Minister Katz called Erdogan a ‘paper tiger’ and criticized his response to missile attacks from Iran into Turkey.

The indictment includes charges of crimes against humanity, genocide, deprivation of liberty, torture, damage to property, looting, and obstructing transportation vehicles. Activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla were detained by Israeli forces in September 2025 during their journey to deliver aid to Gaza.
