U.S. Issues Security Warning for Citizens, Warns Against Visiting Serena Hotel Peshawar

The U.S. Mission in Pakistan has issued a security alert urging U.S. citizens and personnel to avoid the Serena Hotel in Peshawar from November 27 to December 16, 2024, citing credible security threats.

The advisory specifically called on U.S. citizens to reconsider travel plans and steer clear of the hotel and its surrounding area. It also referenced the “Do Not Travel” advisory for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, issued on September 10, 2024, due to ongoing terrorism concerns.

“U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid the hotel and the area around the hotel during this period and reconsider travel plans,” the mission warned.

Those already in the vicinity are advised to leave immediately and remain vigilant. The U.S. Mission urged citizens to review their personal security plans, monitor local news updates, maintain a low profile, and stay aware of their surroundings.

Recommendations include carrying proper identification, cooperating with local authorities, and consulting travel reports to ensure safety.
