Ukrainian drones hit a historic museum in Sevastopol, Russia-annexed Crimea. The museum commemorates the 1853-1856 Crimean War between the Russian Empire and an Ottoman-Empire coalition, which Russia lost.

Sevastopol’s Russian-installed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said on Telegram that the museum’s roof was ablaze but did not provide further details. “The enemy will pay for this sacrilege!” he added.

Authorities cut night train schedules in Crimea after a drone attack injured a driver and killed an assistant. The Black Sea peninsula, annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014, faces fuel shortages due to recent Ukrainian attacks as the holiday season begins.

Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy over a peaceful resolution. Moscow reported downing 326 Ukrainian drones overnight, including several heading for Moscow.

In Samara, Novokuibyshevsk repelled drone attacks amid air raid alerts; public transportation was suspended. Falling debris from a drone in Rostov region sparked a fire at a civilian site, and two industrial facilities burned in the Vladimir region.

Air raid alerts were issued by remote oil-producing regions Khanty-Mansiysk, Perm, and Tyumen, as well as industrial Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk in the Ural mountains thousands of miles from Ukraine. Russia’s oil output has been cut due to ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure.
