US Navy Sailor Identified 82 Years After Pearl Harbor Attack
Royle Bradford Luker, a Fireman Third Class aboard USS West Virginia, was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. His remains were identified through DNA analysis and will be buried with full military honors.
Luker among 106 crew members killed during Japanese assault on December 7, 1941. He received Purple Heart and Navy Presidential Unit Citation for his service.
Defence POW/MIA Accounting Agency confirmed Luker’s identity in May 2024 using modern forensic testing and DNA samples from living relatives.
