Valerie Perrine passed away at age 82 on March 23, 2026, after battling Parkinson’s disease for over 15 years.
Her friend Stacey Souther confirmed , stating that Perrine left peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Perrine’s career began with a role in Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) and gained prominence through Lenny (1974), earning an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Honey Bruce opposite Dustin Hoffman.
She further solidified her fame with the Superman films (1978-1980), where she played Eve Teschmacher alongside Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman.
Her filmography also included The Electric Horseman (1979) with Robert Redford. Beyond acting, Perrine was a notable figure in 1970s pop culture and featured in Playboy. She experienced declining health later in life and largely stayed out of the public eye.
