Lahore, 9 February 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board successfully conducted its Multan Franchise auction at the Expo Centre here. A record-breaking PKR 245 crore was bid by Walee Technologies led by their CEO, Ahsan Tahir, outshining all other competitors.
The event began with chairman Mohsin Naqvi of the PCB addressing the audience and sharing insights into the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) as it ventured into its new chapter. The auction witnessed intense competition among five bidders: Aim Next, Particle Igniter, CD Ventures, and DSM.
Mohsin Naqvi commended Walee Technologies for securing the franchise at a record price while praising other participants for their active engagement in this significant event of PSL’s history. He emphasized the fairness and transparency involved in such major transactions, which underlined the league’s continued growth and importance.
Naqvi also outlined that with all eight franchises now confirmed, he expressed confidence about upcoming seasons’ prospects, particularly regarding greater viewer reach, fan involvement, and entertainment value.
CEO of PSL Salman Naseer was equally enthusiastic, welcoming Walee Technologies as a new member. He stressed the league’s growing commercial viability and its exciting prospect for the new era in sports business. The CEO highlighted how this achievement marked an important step towards realizing the HBL PSL’s future potential.
Walee Technologies’ CEO Ahsan Tahir expressed gratitude to Naqvi, emphasizing their mission to contribute positively to Pakistan Cricket’s development. He added that despite the competition’s intensity, Walee Technologies were determined to maintain and exceed fan expectations through innovative and engaging initiatives in the HBL PSL.
