Wales Protest Announced Against King Charles’ Maundy Service Attendance

King Charles and Queen Camilla set to attend Royal Maundy Service at St Asaph Cathedral on April 2nd. This marks the first time the event has been held in North Wales and only the second time ever in Wales, its 800-year history.

During the service, King will present Royal Maundy gifts to approximately 77 men and women from Wales and other UK dioceses. Maundy Thursday is a Christian holy day occurring on the Thursday before Easter.

Anti-monarchy group Republic has announced plans for a protest at the St Asaph event this Thursday. The group’s social media post urges attendees to question King Charles about his knowledge of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, who was stripped of his royal titles by Charles last year due to these connections.
