Warner Bros. Discovery has announced its new Harry Potter series titled “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” The series will stream globally on HBO Max starting Christmas Day 2026 after a special launch event in London.
A two-minute teaser introduces key characters such as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Snape, and Hagrid. It shows scenes of Harry being bullied at school before entering the magical world, with Hagrid telling him, “Your parents were the bravest, kindest people I’ve ever met…next time I see you will be in Hogwarts.”
Ollivander also tells Harry, “Mr Potter, I think we can expect great things from you.” The series stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. John Lithgow plays Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer is Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu is Snape, and Nick Frost portrays Hagrid.
Written by Francesca Gardiner and directed by Mark Mylod, the series is based on J.K. Rowling’s bestselling books and produced by experienced industry professionals. The show will be available in multiple countries including the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Italy.
