World Bank, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye’s institutions show interest in Punjab’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program. The World Bank mission plans a visit soon.

The initiative is recognized as one of the world’s largest interest-free housing finance programs. Experts see it as a model for other developing nations aiming to increase affordable housing access.

Presented as an example of affordable and social housing finance, Punjab has improved opportunities for low- and middle-income groups. The program was developed after learning from successful models in various countries.

Punjab’s housing policies gained international acclaim at the World Urban Forum in Baku, where its approach to housing and urban development was showcased globally. International organizations, development partners, and government representatives engaged with Punjab during the forum, strengthening cooperation in the housing sector.
