AIG Karachi Police Warn Against Aerial Firing on New Year’s Eve

Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Javed Alam Odho has warned citizens against aerial firing during New Year’s Eve celebrations, stating that cases under the attempted murder section will be registered against violators.

Last year, 31 people were injured in aerial firing incidents in the city, with several cases registered. Odho urged residents to celebrate responsibly and report any such incidents to the police, assuring that law enforcement is ready to assist.

To ensure public safety, the Karachi city administration has imposed Section 144 for two days, restricting activities that could disturb peace. Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi issued the notification on the recommendation of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Zone Karachi.

Citizens have been advised to avoid aerial firing and welcome the New Year peacefully.
