The Balochistan government has taken decisive action by dismissing approximately 2,000 school teachers due to chronic absenteeism across the province, according to an official statement.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti issued termination orders during a meeting of the education department, directing the chief secretary to provide an implementation report within one month.

Bugti emphasized the appointment of district education officers based on merit, assuring that political interference in the department would be eradicated. However, he cautioned that any teacher found absent despite these measures would face action, even leading to repercussions for the education secretary.

Highlighting the government’s substantial investment in education, Bugti noted that each child’s education in the province costs Rs72,000. He pointed out that with such funding, a child could afford to attend an elite private school, underscoring the significance of utilizing resources effectively for educational advancement.
