China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, stating it as a shared demand from the international community. This call came during a phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.

Wang Yi emphasized that respecting Iran’s sovereignty and security in the strait is crucial. He also stressed the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation for safe maritime passage through the region.

The current situation, according to Wang Yi, stands at a delicate balance between war and peace but offers an opportunity for peaceful negotiations. Araghchi confirmed Iran’s readiness to continue efforts towards finding a reasonable solution through dialogue.
