CNIC Issuance, Renewal to Be Accessible at UC Level: Naqvi

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has revealed plans to introduce facilities for the issuance and renewal of identity cards at the Union Council (UC) level across Pakistan.

During his visit to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) headquarters in Islamabad, Naqvi instructed officials to expedite the development of a plan for implementing this initiative.

Naqvi further announced the installation of biometric machines at the Union Council level to streamline the identification process.

Additionally, he called for improvements to the ID card system to enhance its efficiency, reliability, and security.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by citizens visiting NADRA centers, Naqvi emphasized the need to develop measures for facilitating visitors to these centers.

Furthermore, Naqvi directed the expansion of NADRA centers in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi to improve accessibility for the public.

Addressing concerns about fake identity cards, Naqvi instructed authorities to take decisive actions to combat the activities of fake identity card syndicates.

During his visit, Naqvi also inspected NADRA’s operational room and received a briefing on the digital monitoring system employed in NADRA centers.
