Crackdown Intensifies on May 9 Suspects

A renewed crackdown has been initiated against suspects and proclaimed offenders involved in the May 9 tragedy in Lahore. The police have assigned operations and investigation teams to intensify efforts against those accused who remain at large.

According to police officials, there are 282 proclaimed offenders yet to be arrested, and a total of 382 more suspects need to be apprehended for the ongoing investigation. Raids and operations are underway to track down and arrest the individuals involved in the tragic events of May 9.

As per the police report, a total of 14 cases related to the May 9 incidents were registered in Lahore, along with 49 cases under other serious provisions. In terrorism-related cases, 1035 accused have been arrested, and in non-terrorism cases, 884 accused have been apprehended.

The report further outlines that 741 suspects have undergone judicial trials in terrorism cases, with 318 suspects placed in judicial remand for other offenses. The remaining accused are either on bail or have been discharged from the cases.
