The deadline for registering Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in Pakistan ends today, with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirming the registration of over 27,000 VPNs so far. The Ministry of Interior is expected to decide whether to extend the deadline.

According to reports, the registration date is likely to be extended, given demands from the IT sector, freelancers, and other stakeholders. However, if no extension is announced, authorities are set to launch a crackdown on unregistered VPNs.
