Nancy Guthrie and presumed captors still not found.
Authorities have been unable to locate Nancy Guthrie or those who kidnapped her. This has fueled speculation that the kidnappers may be hardened criminals.
However, a former FBI special agent believes the abductor is inexperienced.
He pointed out mistakes in the suspect’s actions, including wearing a mask while outside Nancy’s home and being captured on camera footage from the property.
“The way he tries to get lower to disguise his gait and height, how he tries to cover up the camera – that’s not something an experienced criminal would do,” he told the Daily Mail.
The agent also noted the suspect’s poorly positioned gun holster and oversized gloves, which could not comfortably handle a firearm.
Additionally, blood found at the exit of Nancy’s home suggests there was a struggle inside.
“This tells me the kidnapping did not go smoothly,” said the ex-FBI negotiator. “If he were professional, that wouldn’t have happened.”
The agent also pointed out the lack of proof of life from the captors in ransom notes as further evidence of their amateur status.
Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie, a TODAY anchor and Nancy’s daughter, has marked five months since her mother was kidnapped, expressing how much pain her family endured during this time.
