Faysal Quraishi Criticizes Lack of Greenery in Karachi

Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has expressed concerns about Karachi’s lack of greenery through a social media post.

In his Instagram story, Quraishi shared an aerial view of the city, pointing out the noticeable absence of trees and questioning how urban development has transformed it over time.

The actor suggested that Karachi is turning into a “concrete jungle,” with green spaces disappearing as they are replaced by buildings and roads. He urged people to plant more trees, noting environmental damage is becoming increasingly visible.

This comes amid extreme heat, rising pollution levels, and climate-related challenges in Karachi, issues linked to rapid urbanisation and shrinking green cover by experts.

Quraishi has won over 20 nationally recognised awards for his work, including the leading role of Boota in the television series Boota from Toba Tek Singh. He also hosted several shows such as Muskurati Morning, Salam Zindagi, Jeet Ka Dum, and Khush Raho Pakistan.
