Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced a Rs130 billion subsidy for public relief amid rising global oil prices. The minister hinted at further measures if prices hit $76 per barrel, aiming to reduce oil costs and ease consumer burden.
Malik emphasized the government’s commitment to public service under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. He also addressed the Iran gas pipeline project, currently in court review in Paris, with Pakistan ready to collaborate on a solution.
