Govt Seeks Huawei’s Assistance for Digital Services Platform and Skill Development

Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has called on Huawei to assist in launching a one-stop service platform for business registration and quick service delivery to citizens.

During a meeting with Ethan Sun, the CEO of Huawei Pakistan, on Thursday, the two discussed digitalization, IT and telecom infrastructure, and skills development.

Shaza Fatima highlighted the government’s active steps to promote Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the country. She noted that, under the Prime Minister’s vision, efforts are being made to train the youth in information technology. She urged Huawei to provide digital skills training to teachers and students at schools, colleges, and universities, as well as to government employees.

She also stressed the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s focus on the safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan and encouraged Huawei to help establish safe cities. Additionally, the initiation of a smart healthcare program for remote areas, especially in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), was discussed.

Ethan Sun affirmed Huawei’s commitment to supporting the promotion of ICT and the digital economy in Pakistan.
