Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed optimism about U.S. chip suppliers gaining access to China’s market after his recent trip with President Donald Trump.
Huang stated that while the U.S. government has granted licenses for selling H200 chips, Chinese officials have not yet approved this, favoring local suppliers instead.
Trump’s discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping did not yield immediate results for Nvidia’s chip sales in China.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Huang indicated a long-term view on market access, emphasizing the company’s strong commercial interest in China and its AI and data-center sectors.
His remarks aim to underscore the importance of maintaining open access to the Chinese market while recognizing current limitations, suggesting that future trade or technology agreements could facilitate more normal business operations between the two nations.
