Hundreds of cyclists gathered in London on Saturday for the annual Tweed Run. The event, which takes place every year, involves participants dressing in vintage British attire as they leisurely ride through central London past landmarks like Big Ben.
Chris Edworthy, a rider from Sussex, told Reuters that the event is similar to Goodwood Revival, an annual festival featuring classic racing cars and motorcycles at the Goodwood Circuit. The Tweed Run was established in 2009 with a focus on proper attire, encouraging participants to wear tweed suits, plus-fours, bow ties, and flat caps.
Riders embraced the nostalgic aesthetic, with some opting for iconic penny farthing bicycles from the 1800s. Steve Clyde, another cyclist from Sussex, emphasized that attention to detail is key in their outfits, reflecting a deep appreciation for historical fashion and craftsmanship.
